Default Where Should I Move??

I am a dad of 2 girls and 2 boys living with them and
my wife.
We are looking for a new house somewhere in the
Lake Minnetonka Area, preferably in Excelsior, Deephaven,
Woodland and Greenwood. Does anyone know of any good
neighborhoods in that area that would be nice? We are
looking for a somewhat new home, not contemporary.
If anyone could tell us where a nice neighborhood would
be, that would be great!

If I lived on Lake Minnetonka, it would be near downtown Excelsior, esp. near The Commons. I wealthy, quaint, ungentrified town with great schools. Woodland and Greenwood are older areas with little commencial activity, they are on the lake and the older housing stock in nice, IMO. Minnetonka Beach is another area that I like. Wayzata is nice, but it is more "uppity". Deephaven is larger, and will have more newer homes. The other communities will be more of a mix.

A great area. It doesn't have the quaintness for me, but it is a lovely area. It seems more like a Medina that is on the lake, with larger lots, et. cetera.

Orono is beautiful. You are inbetween the more rural areas and the suburbs along hwy 55. Each town around Lake Minnetonka has it's own flavor. We lived in the area for 7 years and absolutely loved it. The area is one of the most beautiful areas of the Twin Cities. Some areas, like Minnetrista have a longer commute time and it can get tiresome driving around the lake -- but small price to pay. There are many nice lakes besides Lake Minnetonka in that area. Lake Rebecca and Long lake are also nice areas.
