Engagement ring shopping. i'd prefer to go somewhere in edina, richfield or st louis park. but im willing to travel if need be. not trying to break the bank. so id prefer to pay no more than $1000. One store that looks nice online is arthur's jewelers in roseville.

Some of the locally owned stores in the smaller towns around the metro might be good options, less mark up and more willing to work with you on a design, etc. vs the chain type places. If you want to stay local, I know people that have bought jewelry at Sam's Club and Costco and have been very happy with the price and quality.

Congratulations!!

Centennial Jewelers in Shoreview. They will custom design your ring, they are a mom and pop shop, family owned and will tell you point blank because they are family owned they are cheaper than the Shane Co's and Jareds.

I was extremely happy with the results from Centennial. Bottom line you will get a MUCH higher quality ring, setting and design for your money from a SMALL jewelery store.

Arthurs is still a large store. Call Centennial Jewelers and make an appointment. I brought my Wife with to get the process "started" and from the options we came up with I then had Centennial do there magic and custom design the ring. She still loves it!

Overhead is what creates inflated prices. This place's shop is in the 2nd story of a strip mall, probably not bigger than 700sq ft and it's entirely run by the Dad, Mom, and Daughter. They have 3 employees.
Congrats!

RF Moeller, but they may be a bit too spendy. I like them because they're locally owned, and they do all their repairs/customization in-house. I don't really buy a lot of jewelry, but I always go there for repairs on my wife's rings and they could not possibly be nicer to work with.

We listen to FM 101.3 on occasion, and Shane Co does have an extensive advertising presence there! Makes me want to go there.

Shane Co touts they avoid the middleman. Assuming it was true, they pay the radio station dearly in the form of advertising. So no deals there.... I've heard their ads all across the country at nauseum.

I wonder if Tom Shane is related to Dick Enrico of 2nd Wind. All the metro guy's know about Dick Enrico because he his face is plastered where your eyes meet the wall at the urinals.
Both owners like to hear themselves on the radio.
