Think we will stick up near the Shoreview area. Everything seems to keep pointing there. Thanks.

Shoreview seems very nice whenever I go through to my doctor's office. Not sure if there's any drawbacks at all.

Because they are sub-standard by MN standards...especially with schools like Edina, Eagan, Apple Valley, etc. within a few miles...

So I know Shoreview looks great. What about Mounds View itself? Same school district but Irondale instead of Mounds View. Is the city itself about the same as Shoreview?

That area is nice, older homes, but older meaning 60-80's, but plenty of new too. Irondale and Mounds View schools are both very good. Irondale is a smaller school but has very nice facilities and a lot of parental involvement-which is a key to better schools. Mounds View is "newer" but again, very good school. That district is one of the tops in the state and is recognized nationally as well, along with several others. It's probably the area we would consider living if we were on that side of the metro.

We have friends who have their children in Richfield's Spanish immersion program and are very happy with it. I am told that it is one of the best Spanish immersion programs (along with Minneapolis) because of the high number of native Spansih speakers in the program. Our daughter has been involved in the Richfield swim program and we have been very impressed with the quality of the facilities and the coaches.

Thanks again to everyone for the advise. We had an offer accepted on a house in Mounds View. Looks like we are headed that way. Looking forward to the new adventure.
