It may not seem "pleasant" to some people to live in a place like Cleveland. That's probably one of the biggest differences between Cleveland and Minnesota. However, when you look past the grit, you find a city that is actually much richer in culture, and arguably richer in amenities that Minneapolis. This city was an immigrant city 100 years ago, the same way that San Francisco or New York are today. All those different cultures are still represented in the Cleveland area, and that history has given Cleveland a culture of tolerance and appreciation for all different ethnicities. We even have an area called the cultural Gardens, where every different ethnic city in the Cleveland area has their own garden that they design, fund, plant, and maintain. That has been there for almost 100 years, and new Gardens continue to be added. From what I know of Minneapolis, it's very different, and mostly an assimilated standard American culture.

Cleveland is over half black, which alone makes the demographics completely different than MSP and makes the two places difficult to compare. However, it doesn't seem like you have brought that part up at all.

Regarding immigrants, All cities in America were "immigrant cities" 100 years ago. It doesn't seem like you know very much about the contemporary Twin Cities. It is an immigrant city, right now.

Yeah, we know about your Hmong and Somalis. You guys never stop talking about it. It doesn't make your city diverse, sorry. We have many refugee immigrants here too. Plus we have a larger Hispanic population than you guys do. I realize that all American cities were immigrants cities. But more immigrants from more different countries came to Cleveland than Minneapolis. It was a major innovation and manufacturing hub that drew people from all over the world. Minneapolis was never attractive to immigrants to that extent. although the two places look a lot different now, their respective cultures reflect these different origins.

If Minneapolis is more densely populated than Cleveland by a wide margin(and becoming more so by the year), has a larger workforce than Cleveland, has a larger skyline than Cleveland, and has one of the largest urban university campuses in the country, how is it that Minneapolis is a "suburban city" and Cleveland is not?
