any ideas where i can go. i just came from bobby and steve's who charged me $290 for my tie rod ends. not too bad. same quotes from goodyear and precision auto in edina. that 350-370 range .but they said they couldnt do alignment because the ball joints are bad. i need upper and lower. im not paying 1350-1400 to have all this done. do you know where can i go for a much cheaper rpice?

I always used Lloyd's Automotive on Grand Avenue in St. Paul, and they always priced me very fairly. Never charged me for anything I didn't need done. Give them a call and see what they quote you. They seem to believe in the philosophy of making their money off of you a little bit at a time over a couple of decades, rather than trying to cash in every time you pull into their driveway.

Impact Auto in Farmington. I got my brakes done there for a great price. They even allow you to bring in your own parts and they install them for you. You save a lot of money if you purchase your own parts. Those brakes I paid $100 for from Napa would have cost me nearly double that if I let a shop purchase them for me and then mark them up. They are honest guys, and I've taken my car in there before for an apparent issue, and they said it's nothing to worry about. A dishonest shop could have lied to me and told me I needed to have some work done asap, and I wouldn't have known. They are a small business so they care about customers. It's not a national chain like Goodyear that will rip you off bigtime.
