Sheridan Neighborhood. (Minneapolis, Minnetonka, New Hope: crime, house, neighborhoods)

Hello,

My girlfriend and I just made an offer on a house located around 13th Ave NE and 5th St NE. I was wondering how safe the neighborhood is. Would I feel comfortable walking my dog at night, or having my girlfriend walk alone around 8? We just moved to the cities last year, but have been living in New Hope, so we don't know a ton about the city neighborhoods.

Hey neighbor! We just bought a place over in Northeast Park! We used Trulia to look up previous police report incidences to see how comfortable we felt in various areas. You can plug in the address and it'll show you the map. We just moved to Minnesota in January and are living in Minnetonka. We're excited to move to Minneapolis. Where are you guys from originally?

We just moved from Ogden, UT. But I am originally from Grand Rapids, MN. We're really excited about living in the the Northeast Arts District, just want to make sure it's a good idea. We originally found a home a little bit more north by Saint Anthony Parkway on 33rd street. We have looked at the crime maps, and I think I am comfortable with the area, just wanted to verify with others. Where are you guys from?

I'm further down 5th St. near Hennepin and Central, but I bike through that area a lot to get to the gym. In general it seems like a great area. Biking (or visiting) throughout different times of the day it always seemed quiet and safe. The police precinct that encompasses Northeast Minneapolis is supposed to be the sleepiest of the bunch.

We just moved here from New York, but my husband is from Vadnais Heights. I grew up in Oregon. I think overall NE Minneapolis is safe, at least as safe as anywhere in a big city!
