In the most recent report, The Mayo Clinic also took over the top National spot from Baltimore's Johns Hopkins Hospital.

St Joseph's Hospital in St Paul was ranked last in the Twin Cities. While my rural hospital did not garner much in the way of medical credibility, it did rank near the top for prompt service work on a variety of field combines including the new Allis Chalmers Whoopty-Doo 6000 Series Soybean Picker, congratulations to the fellas down at Roscoe's Neurology and Farm Implement Shop in Braham.

St. Joseph's isn't ranked last in the metro. It is ranked last out of the "top ranking" hospitals in the metro. It seems that puts it 12th out of 37.

Seeing as how this is U.S. News I am wondering if there is any reason to pay attention to these rankings at all...

Well, I personally think Abbott is great. They saved my life. Wonderful wonderful hospital, and Mpls Heart Institute is also wonderful. I go there weekly and they are top notch!

They saved my life twice. At least one of those times, I don't even want to think how it would have turned out if the ambulance had taken me to HCMC instead. Good to see them getting the recognition.
