The State Fair is definitely a big deal here. Although, I have to admit, I didn't have a good time this year. That's a first for me. The State Fair broke attendance records once again, though!

I hope you had a good time while you were here, Bulldog. Thanks for sharing your pictures. I'm one of the geeks who likes looking at other people's pictures! Unfortunately, I can't tell you where any of them were taken because, even though I live in Minneapolis, I don't know St. Paul at all.

We moved to St. Paul from California a few years ago. My sister was visiting recently from out there and we took her to:

Como Zoo & Arboretum
MOA (we're not really into it but she wanted to say she'd seen been there)
State Fair (on Prairie Home Companion night - she's a fan, plus she LOVES fairs)
Lowertown Farmers Market and Union Depot
East & West River Pkwys (stopping at lookouts and river beaches. We tried to go to Minnehaha Falls but it was too crowded)
Stone Arch Bridge and Mill Ruins
Stillwater
Kayaking on Lake Phalen

Although we didn't get over to MPLS as much as we'd hoped, she really enjoyed herself and, like a lot of people unfamiliar with the region, was surprised by all the area has to offer. With the severity of the western drought, she especially enjoyed how green it was here.
