We are moving to EP in a year or so. I'm a decent rec golfer but don't have the money or desire for a country club membership. I know there are tons of great public courses in the metro but I'd like to maybe get involved in a league. I don't carry a handicap mostly because I don't play enough but I'm a mid-70s to mid-80s player. Any recommendations?

Also, my oldest daughter (6) is scared of most things, but she loves to go to the range and putting green with me. I would like to find a good kids clinic or camp for her. I won't want any private lessons unless she really gets into it. I know EP is s huge district and believe me, I have no driving desire to turn her into some kind of protege or golf nut unless that's what she wants.

The First Tee program is great for teaching kids how to golf. There are programs in the cities and in some of the suburbs. I'm not sure how close it is to EP. They have programs in the spring, summer and early fall.

I golf in Minnesota. It's a great place for golf. Courses are generally inexpensive and well maintained. City memberships are reasonable. I don't know that much about golf in Eden Prairie other than that they have two or three indoor ranges in the winter. My dad is in a league for U of MN alumni.
