Have some southern friends coming to town soon. Need some help thinking up fun stuff. As a long-time resident, I forget what visitors might find interesting that might not be on my beaten path.

What might be fun to take them to or do with together?

Depends on what your friends are into I guess? Mine like myself are into art, food, and beer. When they are in town we usually go to MIA, the Walker, or a gallery, hit a new restaurant, and a taproom or two. There are probably some shows going on at the local theaters as well. As far as outdoor activities when the trails are groomed we cross country ski (Lebanon Hills, Theo Wirth, Elm Creek Preserve). You could always check out places like Afton, Welch Village, and Buck Hill as well? I'd say grab a City Pages, or a Vitamn magazine too. It usually lets you know what's going on in the metro on weekends.

Whenever I get visitors they always want to go to the Mall of America, which is off the beaten track for me.

It is beautiful in their.

They have twinkly lights in their. Very festive.
They rent skates.
And they have deely boppers you can skate with if you are not good at it.

They sell snacks, food, beverages both non alcoholic and alchoholic.
There are alot of families there, couples ,adults.

What kind of "deely boppers"? I don't think I've heard of this.

Has anyone seen if Minnehaha Falls is nicely frozen?

I checked and the ice on the lakes isn't thick enough to drive on, which I'm sure would've thrilled them!

Lol.
I didn't know the what they are called, so I called d them deely boppers.

They kind of look like a walker to help you skate.
They have little ones for kids and big ones for adults.

More adults use the, lol.

Huh. Even the old classics will have their new developments, I guess. Interesting.
