Sports bars downtown for NHL games?
I'm coming up to Minneapolis for business the last week of January. We're staying downtown at the Crown Plaza and I'm wondering if there are any cool sports bars downtown within walking distance. I need to watch my Buffalo Sabres!!! Thanks for your help!!!

Since the Wild is in St. Paul, your best best is there. However, since you probably don't want to travel across town, go to Champps...it's right downtown at 6th and 1st. There are a few other bars right around there to hang out, as well. I've given out this website here before and it's pretty cool. It's thethrifyhipster.com. You'll be sure to find what you're looking for.
In the meantime...
If you want to tangle with the Wild crowd, go to St. Paul. I have season tickets and hang out at Tom Reids, Wild Tymes, Kincaids, Pazzaluna's, St. Paul Grill, Alary's, Eagle Bar and Matty B's.
Have fun and if you go to the game, we're pretty tame...we won't hurt you much!
Welcome to Minneapolis and...well, Go Wild!

Well, you are in luck. Minnesota is probably the only US state that can rival Canada for hockey fans. Hockey is HUGE in this state and I can guaranty that 99% of the bars (all bars, not just the sports bars) will have a game on.

I'd say hockey is a bigger deal in Michigan than here, but I suppose it all depends on who you hang out with.

Ah yes, you may be right. Still the right part of the country for Hockey, though.

Thanks for the advice guys! Yeah, I don't want to have to go across town or anything. Hoping to walk or take a Taxi but if the bar is really cool, I would check it out.
I've heard that Minnesota is a big hockey state, that's why I figured there would be some sports bars with the NHL Center Ice package. I live in Memphis, TN now and I think I'm the only hockey fan down here!!!
