Default Commute times to Golden Valley

Hi,

I'm relocating to MSP to work in Golden Valley and am interested in commute times to there from: 1) Apple Valley, 2) Eden Prairie, 3)Chanhassen, 4)Chaska, 5) Orono, 6) Minnetonka or 7) Maple Grove. Thanks!

I know that Rosemount to Golden Valley is about 35 minutes leaving here at 8:00, so at the tail end of rush hour so probably 45 in a normal rush hour--Apple Valley would be the same.

EP would be maybe 15 minutes
Chanhassen not sure but it is really busy coming that way, 30 minutes or so
Chaska-169 is not fun
Minnetonka, 15 minutes or so
Maple Grove-a couple hours some days, 40-50 minutes other days--not a fun commute-there have been times it has taken us an hour to go 10 miles on a Saturday afternoon up there--especially in the summer with the lake traffic

whatever will become famous soon enough
My wife makes the commute in about 15 mins from Orono at about 7:30 a.m.
Of course the later she leaves, the longer it can take.

A good rule of thumb is live in the same or one city over of where you work.

Default From Shorewood (Excelsior) to Golden Valley

It takes me about 30minutes leaving Shorewood at 8:30am to get to where I work in Golden Valley (near 169 & Medicine lake road). It seems that I have missed most of the rush hour and the stoplights on Hwy 7 are timed well if you go the speed limit (Usually I don't have to stop more than once, if at all). It take me about 25 minutes w/o traffic (night).

The drive home is a little longer leaving at 5pm, usually close to 40 minutes.

Hope that help. -Dave

Default Route to Golden Valley

Golfgal (or anyone who knows!),

What route do you take to Golden Valley? I'm considering commuting from Cannon Falls (Girlfriend will be working in Rochester) and am looking for ideas on routes to Golden Valley (100 & Duluth Street (394)). I work 9-5 most days. Here is what I'm thinking right now:

N52
W55
W62
N100

Anyone else who commutes in a similar way I'd appreciate your response too! I'm really looking to live somewhere between Cannon Falls & Roseville (but probably closer to Cannon Falls).

THANKS!

I usually take Cedar (77) to 62 and over to get to Golden Valley. It depends on where in Golden Valley I am going which exit off 62.

52 to 55 to 62 is ok, you could also take 52 to 494 to 110 to 62--not sure if that is longer though.
