Yeah but Phase Two's fourth floor is totally different than what Mall of America has now on its fourth floor. The fourth floor includes the following. Clubs, Restaurants, Bass Pro Shops, Office Tower, Dinner Theater, Musuem, Performance Theather (6,000 Seats), retail stores, access to the old floor four, Access to a parking ramp, 2 Hotel entrances and it also is connected to Town Square, meaning its not totally cut off like floor four is now. It has a lot more than what floor four has or had ever at the old MOA. Keep in mind that Bass Pro Shops streches from floor one to floor four. Ill try to upload the site plan for floor four.

I also think the light rail will make a difference for the entertainment district at MOA. With not having to worry about driving, many people from the Minneapolis area will probably hop on the lightrail to bar hop at MOA.

What do you think about MOA getting a tax break for phase two? Should it happen or not?

I really love the MOA and miss it so much! And "The Park", formally Camp Snoopy is so much fun for my kids. What a great place to have indoors when a long cold winter sets in...

The park is now called Nickelodeon Universe. My kids love it.

Sure, why not, its a good place to go during our freezing winters and baking summers. The more to see and do the better.

If they want a tax break Bloomington can give them one through a TIF. There is no need for people, especially those who live in outstate Minnesota, to be watching their tax dollars flow into a shopping mall they see very little benefit from. As well, they should not be exempt from fiscal disparities, especially at a time when local government aid is already short. The state needs to do some cutting budget wide to solve the deficit before they even think about giving mall of america tax breaks or the vikings a new stadium.

I'm leaning "no." They say it'd create 7000 jobs, but they're all low-wage jobs. As for construction jobs, we could put at least 7000 road guys to work to fix our crumbling transit system.
The only way I'd give them the $200m they want is under a guarantee that it's a loan, not a gift. It must be repaid (plus interest).
I also think MN should start charging taxes on clothing -- there's a goldmine of state money to be made off MOA tourists.

The Tourists come because of tax free clothing. I dont think it would be smart to add tax to our clothes.

That is def a huge perk. We are visiting family in MN this summer and will do all of our kids school clothes shopping at the MOA.
