Does anyone know any details on Mall of Americas phase two that is new? Such as when it will start or any changes to the design?

I don't know that, but I think once completed it will no longer be the biggest mall in America but in the world...

My husband and I took a bus tour last summer through Mnpls/ St Paul and that is what the tour guide said. I guess right now the biggest mall in the world is in Canada, but will be te MOA after the add ons?

I really love the MOA and miss it so much! And "The Park", formally Camp Snoopy is so much fun for my kids. What a great place to have indoors when a long cold winter sets in...

I'm glad we have it, but I try to avoid it whenever possible. Too big for me, too garish, too loud. I do like the special stores there, I admit.

hopefully phase 2 will actually include some decent anchor stores. it amazing that for a place so big, there is so little high-end stuff there.

Well what I have heard is that Marriott is building a 500 room hotel on the south side of the mall. Nickelodean Universe will be finishing in the place of Camp Snoopy in the summer. Also the new addition would make it the largest mall in the world. The retail space and the size of the mall would be almost 10 million square feet. The mall will have 1,000 stores and also Bass Pro Shops has signed on to be one of the main tenants taking 300,000 feet in space. Stores that are rumoured to go into the addition are Louis Vuitton, Prada, Dior, Chanel, Michael Kors, etc. Alot of High End stuff, but only in the high end district. I dont know about anything other though, let me know.

Bloomingdale's seems high-end enough for me. What would people in Minnesota do with a Louis Vuitton, Chanel, or Dior store? I walk past Club Monaco and even that's empty because no one there can afford it.

I went there when visiting Minneapolis 2 years ago, but not since I moved up here permanantly. I have no desire to go back, especially since I'd have to drive there. At least when I visited, I was close to a light rail station.

Minneapolis may not be as high-fashion conscious as New York, LA, SF, Chicago and the like, but there are tons of rich people here who do like to buy this stuff. Look at Macy's, which in Minneapolis is pretty high-end. Go to a Macy's in California and it will be only slightly better then a JC Penny.

I just checked out MOA's website. They plan to make Phase-II 'lifestyle oriented.' Oh brother
