Just moved to Apple Valley (St. Paul, Burnsville: salons, coupons, live)

Hi,

My family and I just relocated to Apple Valley from out of state. I now have the fun job of trying to find new doctors and dentists. I would appreciate any references for pediatricians, pediatric dentists as well as doctors/dentists for myself and husband. Also, anyone know of a good hair stylist? My husband and son are fine with getting their haircuts at Great Clips or something similar. We just moved in this week and don't know anyone yet to ask, so I thought I'd try on this board first. Thanks for any help!

I am next door in Rosemount. We go to Kurt Chroust in Rosemount Kurt P Chroust D.D.S. : Home and are very happy with him. Dan Glenn in Rosemount is an EXCELLENT pediatric dentist. Our kids saw him when they were small.

Katie at Salon Picaso is FABULOUS. (952) 223-4247. You get an awesome scalp massage and paraffin wax for your hands too! They are located on 42 just west of Cedar by McDonalds and Walmart.

We doctor in St. Paul at St. Paul Children's Clinic connected to St. Paul Children's hospital. Our pediatrician isn't taking new patients but there are other doctors there that are great.

Not sure if you're still looking (I am new to the board), but we take our kids to Southdale Pediatrics in Burnsville. The doctors there are phenomenal.

Not sure if you're still looking but I figured it couldn't hurt to post.

We go to the dentist in Burnsville at Northstar Dental with Dr. Mike Nanne (he has done, I assume still does, work for the MN Wild). He's fantastic and a perfectionist. He advertises in some mailings, so check your mail (I've seen coupons for free initial dental visits before even).

Our kids go to Children's Dental in Lakeville (they have a Savage location also) with Dr. Brent Kvittem.

While my husband and I go to the doctor at Burnsville Family Physicians and they are a family place our children go to Edina Pediatrics in Edina (they've been going there since birth so we didn't want to swap).

I'm new to Dakota County area hair stylists...I usually drive over the river and get my hair done at the same place as I have for a while. So sorry I can't help with that one!

My DW and I have lived all over the place -- Massachusetts, New York, Florida, and now Minnesota. The pediatricians at Southdale Peds are among the best we've ever encountered. It is a large practice with plenty of doctors, so there is always someone to see your child even if your doc is not in on a particular day. The doctors there have excellent credentials and are incredibly thorough. They have extended hours during the week (open until 8, in case you need to take in a sick child after work) and Saturday hours for sick kids, too. Lastly, and this was really important to us, they have their own lab facilities on site, so they can do X-rays, blood work, etc. right in the office and give you the results immediately (unless the blood work takes longer to process). As you probably know, when you've got a sick kid, the last thing you want to do is hike somewhere else for an X-ray or to get blood drawn.

If you are still looking for a great hair stylist, try Tiffany at Signature Salons. It's on Galaxie, in the shops by Enjoy! restaurant. She's a little pricey, but well worth the money if you are picky about your haircuts, she does excellent work!
