Apparently at this time last year we were first in the ALC.

I don't get it .. it's the same crop of core players and so what has gone wrong? I know pitching is key and that has also been a major issue this season

It's not so much asking what has gone wrong this season, it's asking how in the world we consistently we managed to exceed all expectations last year.

Can someone please tell me...I'm going to a Saints game tonight, do they let you bring in your own snacks like the Twins/Target Field does?

Terry Ryan has been fired.

Hard to believe a team that finished 3 games out of the playoffs last season could be so horrible the next year (with essentially a lot of the same pieces)..

hope they go outside the organization and go big for the eventual replacement.

Twins were 18 out of 30 MLB teams in payroll heading into this season, not exactly paltry so despite Ryan's past success, this fish does stink from the head. I'd expect more player unloading before the month is over.

Major League Baseball Team Payrolls 1998-2016

You'd think ownership should have the awareness of the concept of diminishing returns and open up the purse strings a little bit to repay the gift from the county taxpayers at some point.

Twins attendance rank since Target Field opened...

2010 - 6
2011 - 4 (almost 3.2 mil)
2012 - 12
2013 - 17
2014 - 19
2015 - 20
2016 - 24 (on pace for not quite 2 mil)

I think I once saw an est of $50/per person spent inside the stadium, that drop of 1.2 million fans works out to about $60 million dollars.

KFAN was saying we were 21st in league for payroll this season.

So with the teams expenses of product they are selling and usually is at least doubled what they sell, they're making around $30 million off of that $60m spent before taxes. Then again, they gotta be charging way more then double their initial cost.

They gotta hire someone who's been at a very successful team for long term, so he knows how a team should operate.

In the battle of league's two bottom teams : position #29 (Twins) vs #30 (Braves), it's kind of a shame that we lost both games against the Braves at Target field.
