Looks like next week will be an unpleasant one for the Midwest and southern plains. One forecast include Minneapolis being in mid 90s for most of next week. Drink plenty water and have AC on.

Perfect timing for my weekend camping trip on north shore, where it'll be 10 degrees cooler

This does sound like perfect weather for camping on the north shore.

We camped at Gooseberry Falls around this time of year a couple of years ago. We had a cold snap go through and it was something like 36 degrees when we woke up in our tent one morning. We knew it would be cooler up there, but we weren't ready for that. We did survive and otherwise had a nice time though

Anyways, I predict long lines at the local Dairy Queen. Get there early!

Land of 10,000 Lakes.

I'll be at my favorite tree-lined, spring-fed pond.

Part of me "enjoys" the horrible heat waves of summer, so that when I hear people complaining about 20-degree weather in December, I can remind them of the other extreme
