Default Where can I find the upper-middle class Jewish community?

Does the Twin Cities have an area for the upper-middle class Jewish community? Where do they live? (I'm asking because I'm ethnically Jewish and would prefer to live in that type of area.)

I have relatives who live in HIghland Park in Saint Paul, a mixed community with a large Jewish population.

Putting the word "minneapolis synagogue" in google maps (no quotes) pretty much tells the whole story. Highland Park and St. Louis Park. Highland Park (A St. Paul neighborhood between the two rivers) is better if you want the quiet upscale residential feel, while the St Louis Park area (just west of Minneapolis) has a mix of hip urban (near the lakes) to sleepy middle-income neighborhoods.. I can't speak to what the Jewish community in the Twin Cities is like, unfortunately, just the neighborhoods.

there really isnt a Jewish neighborhood in Minneapolis proper per se....50 years ago it was Willard-Homewood. Most of the Jews in that area moved to St Louis Park during the 1960s.

Mendota Heights, Highland Park and St. Louis Park all have pretty prominent Jewish populations and are upper-middle class areas.

Thanks guys. I just found an earlier thread titled "St. Jewish Park" which went on about this for a couple pages. If I ever move to the Twin Cities, I'd definitely prefer to live out in the suburbs.

What's Golden Valley like?

Are there any areas with newer construction and large houses?

Yes, just draw a circle with a 25 mile radius from the center of the metro and you'll find them there, in every direction!

Not in Golden Valley though. But yeah Ben's right in general.
