Going out to celebrate my birthday. Now there are threads on this already. but here's the catch. the kids are coming too. So places like Chanhassen dinner theatre or Chino Latino won't work. Need a place with good portions, good food, can bring your kids without feeling like an outcast. Preferred locations- Edina, Richfield, SLP, South Minneapolis

Nothing stopping you from bringing kids to Chanhassen Dinner Theatre or Chino Latino.

What sort of food are you thinking?

they are so picky. Plus the youngest is 2. they like the usual fries, pizza, burger, etc place. plus nothing too expensive. because if they don't eat it, that's money down the drain.

Blue Door Pub, very unique burgers. One small problem is I've yet to go to either one and not have it packed.

Edina Grill? Its a little more upscale than the usual casual eatery, yet has a nice kids menu. We brought our kids (who are also very picky/only kid food eaters) and they were happy with the choices.
Another place in that area is Salut ... which had an atmosphere I would bring kids to (though I didn't bring kids or check out kids menu).

Broders Pasta Bar at 50th and Penn has a great kids menu and is good at making adults and kids feel welcome at the same time. The downside is they are busy and don't take reservations. They open at 4:30 and you need to be there by at least 4:45 to avoid a wait.

You might consider Cheesecake Factory since it is convenient to you (right in Southdale). Even though it is a chain, the food overall is good and there are so many choices on their huge menu that even picky kids should find something to like.
