I'm creating a thread dedicated to anything related to the soon to be World Series champions 2017 Minnesota Twins baseball squadron. I was actually relieved to see them fall last night to Chicago as it allows the team to stop focusing on keeping the winning streak alive and go back to focusing on playing great baseball day after day. Here are some things I'll point out early on:

1. Worst to First. In '86 the Twins were dead last. In '87 they win the World Series. In '90 they were dead last and they turned around and won it all in '91. Last year the Twins were in the cellar once again losing over 100 games....you see where I'm getting at here?

2. Watch Sano break out this year and become the next Big Papi, I'm calling it right now.

3.Buxton - keep him batting third as a psyche-out. Opposing pitchers will get over confident with the easy out and will proceed to get obliterated by the remainder of the lineup. We can sacrifice a bat in the lineup due to his incredible defense.

4. Our starting pitching - it's rated near the bottom of the league but they will be sneaky good as Santana and Hughes will both have bounce-back years. By August people will be comparing Santana/Hughes/Gibson to Morris/Erickson/Tapani....mark my words!

5. Molitor. Manager of the Year.....obviously.

6. Remember those trees that used to sit in center field back when Target Field opened? I kinda liked them. Sorry, wanted to throw in a random thought here.

GO TWINS!

Would be nice if the Twins could win their division! If not that, at least a winning record. Will wait until the All Star break before guessing their chances of getting to the World Series.

After last year's forgettable season, just having a winning record may be enough improvement to get Molitor Manager of the Year honors.

After that terrible losing streak to start the 2016 season, has been a great start this year! They won again today, beating the White Sox 4-1 and have a 5-1 record.

I will probably go to one of the Twins/Giants games on June 9, 10 or 11 at AT&T Park.

Go Twins!

Nothing but division games all the way out to the 24th. Good opportunity to show the other central teams they're no fluke. Big road test this week for the pitching staff going against the still powerful Detroit lineup.

Buxton needs to go down and figure out how to put the bat on the ball again. Egregious strikeout pace.

I think it was Reusse (or a guest) who said last week they should send him back to the extended spring training in Florida...looked in around the 6th inning today and saw he had 2 ABs and 2 SOs...but he sure can run

What is Molitor doing? Needing a run late today, Buxton finally manages to get on base and Molitor lets one of the fastest guys in the league stand at first pitch after pitch until he gets erased in a DP. Then he lets Pressly serve a juicy plate o' meat to the hottest hitter in baseball instead of putting him on. I don't care if the guy after him had taken Pressly deep previously, you don't want any part of Garcia in that situation.

By the way, with the game on the line Buxton also failed to throw out a guy carrying a piano on his back at the plate from practically the deep infield. He caught the ball to the side of his body and 2 hopped it home off of the freekin' mound. A professional outfielder should be able to make that play with his eyes closed. Why is this guy not in Rochester re-learning how to play this game?

Today defeat was snatched from the jaws of victory. Santiago pitched great, too.

No worries. They are still just 1.5 games behind first place Detroit. Just two games separate first place from last place in the division. Every team is in contention, including the Twins.

I am guessing they will send Buxton to Rochester soon.
