Smile Loring Park/Elliott Park area?

Is the Loring Park/Elliott Park area of Minneapolis a safe place to live? Are there any good, affordable apartments in that area? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Default Loring Park

I know somebody who lives right by Loring Park, off of Oak Grove st I believe. According to him it is a very safe area and he has very cheap housing there, a single loft in the 400-450 range if I remember correctly. Only thing I noticed about that area is there aren't really any places to get food in the vicinity (walking distance).

Elliot park area I have no idea.

Check the crime in the area. If you are a single female, check again!

That said, it's a pretty area with reasonable rents.
