Default Best schools in Linden Hills, St. Anthony Park Area

My family and I will be moving from Berkeley, CA to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area this summer. I have two daughters who will be in 5th and 7th grade. They are very bright, athletic, artistic girls. We would like to send them to a school with a solid academic program and several extracurricular activities.

It is also important that the school have a diverse student population. My husband is Asian Indian and I am African American.

We are thinking of moving to the Linden Hills, St. Anthony area. I have looked at a couple of school web sites, but I would rather have information from parents.

Any advice or information is greatly appreciated!

I can only speak for Linden Hills. Lake Harriet School (3-8; public) is well-regarded. It is a nice campus on 50th and Vincent and is the neighborhood school for a good chunk of Linden Hills,.
The high school for the area is Southwest High. There is an Int'l Bach program and the school is not only one of the best in the City, but in the metropolitan area. There is alot of diversity.

Default Looking for Students who went to #8 School

Not sure how to jump in with new post. I lived in Linden and went to Number 8 school until the early 70's. I am wondering if there are any people out there around my age, 49 (I was a year behind) that remember the school and the area, and did you stay around? I lived right on Stiles St near Amon Terrace for ages.
I would love to hear from you! I miss the city, I ended up in the Pine Barrens of NJ
Kathy
