Hello...my husband and I are looking at a house in the Fulton neighborhood in Southwest, and I've come across a couple of sites saying that the traffic at 50th & France can be/was terrible, as well as people parking on a lot of the side streets. I was wondering if anyone had experience with this, and would caution living near this area because of that? The house we're looking at is about a block from that business district.

Thanks!

Default Gridlock

Its not terrible but for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening. Funny you should post this - my wife and I had dinner at Salut last night, shuffled around the Galleria, and went to a Christmas party further up.

Are you looking for proximity to a business park? I've actually sold a couple of condos in that particular area. There are certainly some nice homes to be had around there.

No, we're not specifically looking to be near a business district. It's more like we found this house and like it, and it happens to be in the area. I just want to make sure we're not going to be fighting for street parking a lot of the time or suffering with traffic.....

Default Parking

That's a toughy. As far as I'm concerned, when you come home from a hard day at work, you don't want to have to worry about finding a parking space. That would bug me to no end. Street parking can never be guaranteed in the 50th & France area unless your home has designated parking.

Fulton has some nice homes. I know of a few that are for sale (the owners wish to sell) that aren't currently listed in the MLS. I hope your search goes well - and I hope you love your new home!
