Personally, it is easier for my friends and I to stock up on beer because we don't drink that much. We generally drink a lot of dishwater beer like Miller, Bud, and Killian's so stocking up isn't really necessary. But we also get some Moosehead, Heineken, Jose Cuervo, and others. Still, if there is only one 12-pack for all four or five of us that is enough for the day. We don't need beer all the time.
I made that suggestion not knowing people are so stuck on the bottle they can't wait 24 hours for booze and actually have to drink to Wisconsin for beer. I know WI isn't that far from where I live (St. Louis Park), but that's still a lot of gas for beer. If you can't wait 24 hours for beer and have to drive to Wisconsin or go to the bar every Sunday night then you really need to check your alcohol problem.

Wow, you have no idea who you are talking to, nor where you live. That's okay, though. Four to five guys for one twelve pack? Yeah right!

I agree.
You must be from Uptown. Drinking too much of those expensive Lates. Right?
4 or 5 guys to a 12 pack? Hahaha, you're not Minnesotan!
All in good fun...

My family is German, not Scandahoovian, and I agree with you.

Our family still calls them hot dishes. Including my young nieces/nephews.

I think my post came off as a little hostile.
The only thing I call "hot dish" is Tater-tot Hotdish..but thats about it
I dont know, but eveyrone i know calls it POP, but I just cant... I went to visit family in San Diego once and I asked for a pop, and people were on the floor laughing....Since then I too notice how elementary it sounds compared to Soda. Thats all.

I live in the Atlanta metro now and I have to call it "soda" here or everyone thinks I'm an alien.
I still call it "pop", though, when I'm back in Minnesota.
