I was minding my own business yesterday evening around 7:30pm. I was walking northbound on the right side of the street on 16th Ave S about half a block from Lake Street with tacos al pastor on my mind when I saw a child of about 8 years walking his dog...either that or the dog was walking the kid as it was dragging him down the street. I didn't think much of it, just continued walking. As they approached I noticed they were coming towards me. From 20 feet away I could see it was a Pit Bull terrier, and it looked angry. When the dog neared it jumped up at me and bit me on the leg through the jeans. He immediately pulled it off me and apologized and I said it wasn't a big deal...but that was a lie, it actually kind of pissed me off. The dog's teeth were sharp.
When I got home I asessed the damage and could see redness and teeth marks on my leg but it didn't break the skin or anything. Thank God I had those delicious tacos al pastor from Tacos Taxi or my day would have been ruined. I don't care what anybody else says, I hate Pitbulls and I'd vote to illegalize them from the city of Minneapolis if given a chance. |

![]() LOL Just teasing. I'm sorry that happened to you. That had to be scary, knowing the reputation of that breed. I'd sign my name under yours on the petition to make that breed illegal. I'm all for it. Speedy healing. Last edited by Simple Living; 04-06-2008 at 03:05 PM. |

That dog's days are numbered if it just goes around biting people at random. That dog was lucky yesterday that it bit you, but tomorrow, it might bite someone who will choose to do something more serious about it.

*cue post from pitbull sympathizer about what a gentle breed they actually are and how everybody just misunderstands them*

I guess I misinterpreted the painful red teethmarks on my leg, they are actually love-marks from the friendly animal that attempted to smother me with hugs and kisses yesterday.

we're straying from important subject matter. What is this Taco Taxi you speak of?

A Mexican taqueria much like what you'd find in the central part of México. Tacos al pastor is the favorite, for $1.65 a piece you get served small sized tortillas filled with seasoned pork, diced onions, chives and pineapple. The seasoned pork is flame cooked on a display that looks alot like the ones they cook Gryo meat on.
I didn't even bother to see what else was on the menu but I'm assuming they also served Tortas, alambres, tostadas, etc. Taquerias like this are México's version of fast food. Of course to drink they serve aguas. I believe they had agua de orchata (the white stuff) and agua de Jamaica (the red stuff). Both are delicious. Anyways, I don't think Taco Taxi is anything out of the ordinary, just a run-of-the-mill authentic Mexican taqueria, which for me there is nothing better. If you ever go there, don't bother ordering less than 4 tacos or you'll get WTF looks. The tacos ARE NOT THAT BIG. |

thats a bit out of the ordinary for me. Most mexican places around here seem pretty americanized save Pancho De Villa, that one on Lake and Chicago, and probably a handful on Nicollet and Lake that I have never tried.

Yeah but most of the ones you're talking about are nicer sitdown restaurants. Places like Taco Taxi are the McDonalds of México so to speak.

Slig, are you sure that the dog didn't break your skin? Are you up to date on your tetanus vaccinations?
Did you get the name of the kid or the address of the dog-owner? Did you report this to anyone? An aggressive-acting dog like that (of ANY breed) should be reported; and I think that if you get an infection in that area, you need to be able to locate that dog and find out if it's had its' rabies shots and they are up-to-date or not. |
