Getting tired of Buxton's high flying, wall crashing act when all he needs to do is run under the ball and squeeze his glove. Whatever that was last night was ridiculous. He actually overran the ball in an effort to get on the highlight reels. If you can't stay in the game stop crashing into walls! They got away with it last night but that kind of stuff could end up costing them games in the future.

The Twins just won the most game in a single month since...the last year they won it all ('91). Hmmm...

Here is a fun statistic. The Twins are the only team left in the MLB who have not yet lost 3 straight games this season.

This is a very resilient team. Getting 3 poor pitching performances in a row with this staff just isn't going to happen.

Got tickets to go see a couple games at Target Field in August. Being from Sioux Falls I can't just go to a game on a whim.

I feel bad for my fellow St. Paul comrades Mauer and Molitor...they just might have gotten kicked to the curb the very year we win our third Title.

Pitching aside, is this the most talented Twins team ever? It really is starting to look like it.

So what you're really asking is - is this the best hitting Twins team ever?

Depends how you look at it. Everything is geared toward the home run now. Pure hitters like Rod Carew wouldn't sell tickets in this day & age, but those types of guys were the most talented in my opinion. They went up there first and foremost determined to make contact and not strike out. Today's players could care less. They're swinging for the fences every time up and accept that high strikeout totals will be the result of that.

So my adjusted answer to the adjusted question would be that, yes, this is the most talented power hitting Twins team ever. As far as overall talent, I need to see the results of a full season - particularly how deep of a playoff run they make - in order to answer that.

last week against Seattle Bremer pointed out with the Twins leading 10-1 that their available bench included Miguel Sano (OPS .948), Eddie Rosario (OPS .814) and Mitch Garver (OPS 1.058), you know...just in case.

In 8 games at Rochester since being sent down to make room for Nelson Cruz, Williams Astudillio is batting .535 (18/33) with 3 HR, 9 RBI and has an OPS of 1.361.

The catcher depth is as strong as ever. Keep in mind that Jeffers is supposed to be the franchise catcher soon.

Should move Jeffers for some arms and focus on Garver. I think Garver is underrated and is the real deal. Castro obviously producing as well.
