Default Possible relocation, affordable areas near Minnetonka?

Hello everyone,
from the other threads I have read in this forum everyone seem really helpful so I was wondering if anyone can help me out here. My husband may get relocated to MN before the end of the summer. He would be working in Minnetonka near 12201 Ridgedale Drive. I was wondering what areas offer affordable housing that would have a commute to Minnetonka of 30 minutes or less? We are young family with a 1 year old and I will be a stay at home mom. So a safe, family friendly area, with parks and shops close by would be nice. We are willing to spend up to $250k and dont mind townhomes if they offer nice ameneties (pool, playground, etc...)

Thank you in advance for the help

Hello!

I think you will be really happy living in Minneapolis. I'm an agent here and there are MANY affordable options in Minnetonka itself. Especially for townhomes (although pool and playground isn't typical - that's more with condominiums). Minnetonka includes Hopkins, Wayzata and Minnetonka school districts. They are all exceptional. Minnetonka is full of parks and walking trails. It's a VERY family friendly neighborhood.

About your price range, it is a little more difficult to find something at $250K or less, but it is POSSIBLE. It might just take you a little more time to do so. If you are planning on being here by the end of the summer, you should begin looking now or at least narrowing down your criteria (that is, if you haven't already). Another area you may consider is Hopkins. It's a quick commute to where you are going and you wouldn't have a lot of trouble finding a nice single family home in this family friendly city. If you haven't been to "Downtown Hopkins" - take a drive through it sometime. It's full of character, fun restaurants and galleries.

Finally, Plymouth could also be an option for you. It's close to the location you described and there are MANY homes on the market there within your range.

If I can be of further help, please let me know! Happy house hunting!
Thanks,
Sarah
