Hutterites in Minnesota
I've read that there are some Hutterite colonies in Minnesota and I'm wondering if you folks see them around the Twin Cities and surrounding areas.

I think the only Hutterite colonies in Minnesota are in the western part of the state, which would probably put them 100 or 200 miles away from the Twin Cities.

There is a community in Vesta, Mn, about 15 miles from Redwood Falls, 20 from Marshall along Highway 19. You see them out and about in Marshall quite frequently. I haven't come across any in this area.

Hutterites in MN
I visited the Starland Hutterite Colony about 40 miles or so west of Minneapolis. The people were very gracious and friendly. I attended their church service and visited their high-tech machine shop.
They are very generous, helping orphanages in Eastern Europe and sending the young ladies there to do volunteer work.
Unlike many other colonies, they are open to like-minded outsiders joining.
I urge people who are interested in communal living or Christians seeking a more pure lifestyle to visit them and learn from them.
I was in Red Wing visiting family, so I spent little time in the Twin Cities.

Hmm wow - grew up in Marshall and lived there for for 20 years never really noticed very many at all. Is this a newer community in that last 15 years or so? Or was I just to busy partyin and being a teenager to notice :P
Saw a ton of them when I was up in Fargo-Moorhead area for college though which would be NW MN.

I think you were too busy partying and being a teenager to notice. That community has been around for a very long time, well before you were probably even born.
