Question Rental Agencies/Rental home sources?

Hi.
I'm moving to the Twin Cities in August and I'm in the middle of finding a home to rent. I will be working in St. Paul so I've kind of narrowed it down to living there, although I'm still open to anything. Mac-Grove/Merriam Park seems desirable to me right now because they are so walkable. I want to live somewhere that allows me to keep my car in the garage as much as possible. I could be off in my perceptions, but that's why I'm renting. I can figure out where I want to live. I've read great stuff on this site that has helped me get to know the area. I want a house not an apartment, by the way, because I have two dogs and I've owned my own home for six years here in Chicago. I can't bear to go back to sharing walls with people. I just can't.

Anyway, I've been looking on Craigslist, City Pages, Star-Tribune, Pioneer Press for houses and I just wondered if anyone had other ideas for where to look for rental ads--some source I may not know about it? Rental agencies? Message boards? The major newspapers have been worthless for some reason--how many freaking apartment complexes with pools are there for the love of Pete?! I don't care to live in Disneyland.

Craigslist has been the best source so far. If you have any ideas of where else I should look let me know.

Thanks a lot. I appreciate your time.

Have you tried Apartments for Rent and Resources for Finding Apartment Rentals Nationwide - ForRent.com ? I believe we used them when we moved to the cities many years ago. Another excellent site that I was on today is Homes for Rent, Apartments, Houses for Rent, Rental Homes . Try Edina Realty Real Estate in Minnesota Wisconsin North Dakota I think they may offer rentals, but not positive.
