Cobblestone was built with the whole smaller lot and traditional architecture mentality. What I can't figure is why there are so many homes up for sale. I agree that there are tons of deals to be had there. A home on the lake - built for $980k, sold for $640k. Check it out on the Dakota County website.

That particular house was an interesting story--the people that were going to buy the house loaded it with a bunch of upgrades then came to closing and pretty much stiffed the builder. The builder needed to dump the house--short version of the story. The issue with Cobblestone right now is that the original development went in with semi-custom or custom homes. The housing market tanked and they sold off a bunch of their lots to Centex who is building a bunch of clone homes with different paint colors for a lot less then people in the original development have their homes listed at--a few of which are WAY overpriced when they built/bought to begin with and now they are trying to 'make' that money in a sale.

I thikn that you would be very happy with the Sports programs in Apple Valley/Eagan/Rosemount school district (196) or the Lakeville School district. Lakeville is just South of Apple Valley
