Question Looking for good place around Eden Prairie

Hi!

I'm currently in sunny southern California, and talking seriously with an Eden Prairie employer about relocating there for an excellent job opportunity.

My wife and I are originally from the Midwest (Columbia, Missouri), and really like what we see around Eden Park, at least over the net. I'm waiting to see At the same time, we're not from the area, and the closest family is Pittsburgh and Cleveland. I'm looking for a good place to live, good schools, low crime...and an affordable 5 BR/2 BA house within about 20-30 minutes of work in downtown Eden Prairie.

Can anyone help?
Thanks!
Jim

It really depends on what you call affordable. Eden Prairie and surrounding areas have homes ranging from $200,000 to $16,000,000.

'Affordable' is VERY subjective.

True, and my current subjective viewpoint is the comparative insanity of southern California. We bought at $283k a few years ago, and most recently appraised at over $400k. Assuming the salary negotiations go well, we'd be looking at a home somewhere up to $500k I think.

I agree. You should be able to find something in Eden Prairie for that price. Eden Prairie is not my favorite suburb but the schools are good and amenities are convenient.
