Default High School for track & field

We are considering relocating from Arizona to Minnesota. My son will be starting his junior year. We are looking for a smaller high school which has a great track and field sports program, concentrating on discus and shot put. Any suggestions? We are not set on an area, but would like to keep the commute to 45 mins to St. Paul. Thank you!

Everyone is going to groan because I sound like a broken record but the Rosemount Boys just won the state high school track title this spring. They have a very good track program here. Define what you mean by 'small' though. That is relative. Rosemount graduates about 450-500 kids/year.

Stillwater is a perennial track powerhouse but they graduate about 800 kids/year-pretty big high school but the town itself isn't all that big, they just have a large district boundry.

Stillwater and Rosemount are both about 20 minutes to St. Paul--depending on where in St. Paul you are going.
