That just isn't true. You can't live in the Mill District in a brand new condo, but there are tons of older condos and apartments that rent/go for no more than any other area of the city. You can get a studio for $500 to 600. A brand new apartment with a bedroom or two for $1000 to 1200. If you don't have a car it saves you tons of money. When you actually think about it, downtown can be about the cheapest place you can live.

Forgot to ask...are all of these places you guys/gals listed pretty safe areas of the city to live?

Still got about 5-6 months before I'm done with school, but Minneapolis is definitely still in the running amongst areas I'd like to live

Didn't want everyone to think I lost interest, lol.

Reasonably safe; some areas you'll need some street smarts to keep from being hassled. We wouldn't recommend any areas that are otherwise (such as Plymouth/Penn).
