That brings up another point: Even if he did have a gun with him (the dad) he would have had to make it all the way to the car before it was possible for him to use it. In this situation, the issue of the gun is moot.

Chances are if it were allowed, the morons would also have had guns and instead of stepping on his head they would have put a hole in it instead. (Given how trigger happy "regular folk" appear on this forum...)

Technically, they have to verbally ask you if you're caring and ask you to leave even if there's a sign posted. Unless I'm walking thru a metal detector they won't see mine..............Thats what concealed means.

Angry I'm black, and I'm beyond angry about this...

First off, my heart goes out to the gentleman who was attacked while trying to defend his daughter...what is the world coming to, indeed, when a family fun outing turns into a shocking incident of urban brutality?

Secondly, I had to let my anger cool before posting...I'm not a fun guy to be around when I'm P.O.'d, and I don't want my fellow CD-ers to feel the brunt of my rage...

I'm a little on the fence about this---half of me stands in the corner of those that say 'get a gun and light those idiot gorillas up like it's New Year'...but that's my angry half talking...my other rational half is in support of those who think there are other ways of dealing with this beyond guns and violence...

But you have to consider the mentality (if you can call it that) of the guys that did it...if they had acted individually, the father could probably have cracked one in the mouth, then called police, and that would have been the end of it...but in the 'thug' world, you never act alone---you constantly walk the streets, or drive around, with a look on your face like somone whizzed in your Cheerios, bowing-up and acting 'bad' all the time and ---oh yeah--you can't leave home without your gun...it's like an extension of your penis, and it's absolutely vital when you're trying to intimidate someone who would more than likely beat the cowboy s**t out of you otherwise...and saggy pants, sideways ballcaps, fake gold teeth, and outrageous bling complete the 'uniform of the day'...

Here we are, on the cusp of a black man possibly ascending to the Presidency of the most powerful country in the free world, and these a**wipes choose to play 'my nuts are bigger than yours, I got a gun, and I got my homies wit' me' and go 5-or-6 on 1 against a middle-aged father in an amusement park...I really don't give a rat's a** what race the father was, it was STUPID, and it was WRONG, and whoever the trial judge is for these sissies needs to get really pissed and throw the damn book at them...

But the most frightening aspect of all this? Somewhere, right now, somebody is looking at this story and thinks that the thugs are someone to be admired---and that, my friends is truly scary

The Evans family is fairly well known in the Minneapolis area for their criminal activity. If you haven't heard of the Evans family prostitution ring before, look it up. These are members of the same family.

The criminal justice system is way to lenient in this country. While I'm not advocating a police run state, 40-60k bail and a little jail time isn't gong to cut it folks. These scum bags expect it and they can tolerate it. This incident is as heinous to me as the 6-month pregnant woman that was gang raped in St. Paul.

I am a father and I would have mouthed off and confronted the dirtbag in the same situation. I would not walk away even if I knew I was going to end up in a fight. These cowards have to call in their peeps because they're too much of p**sies to engage in a one on one fight without their knives and guns. I hear of animals hunting in packs but these guys don't deserve to be called animals. Animals hunt for food and survival.

I am willing to bet that the Harry Evans that shot and killed Sgt. Gerald Vick in St Paul a couple years ago is also part of the same family.

I can't believe you keep defending these people, you're really showing your true character Slig. Dirtbag gropes the girl, father makes a comment, dirtbag calls his friends and they all stomp on the father and you keep trying to blame the father.

Do you just not understand what happened? Did you read the article? The FATHER was attacked FROM BEHIND, UNPROVOKED. For all you know he was leaving the park since the dirtbag had time to gather his friends for the attack.

They should all be charged with attempted murder and assault at the least and should not have been allowed out on bail at all.

This mentality is exactly why we have problems like this in the United States when dealing with this element of society. We have it crammed down our throat that when dealing with this kind of people it's best to not make eye contact and wait for them to go away, like when dealing with a silverback gorilla or something. These people pull this kind of behavior because they get away with it. Do you really think that a bunch of adults that grope (yes, that is "groping") a 12 year old girl are going to really feel shame and feel bad about what they did, promising to themselves not to do it again if you just simply shoot them a dirty look and walk off?

When you see thugs like this out and about, I always notice how cocky they seem to be, and for good reason. Their behavior is almost always given a free pass and that sort of behavior is sometimes glorified in our pop culture. I think once people stop putting up with it or looking at the ground silently hoping they go away, we'll start to see problems like this decrease drastically.

Hats off to this guy for standing up to these clowns. Seriously, if you will not stand up for your twelve year old daughter, you are a worthless as a father and that should haunt you for the rest of your life.

I'm all for guns (I need to renew my CCW), but I think a backbone goes a little further than a gun in this situation. The abundance of guns or lack of guns does not determine the crime rate, the people do.

Like I said in my first post, I need more details before I can pass final judgement on the situation. Alot of times the newspaper will release an article on something like this without enough information and then people start flying with assumptions. Take the Hispanic gal who allegedly crashed a van into a bus and killed some children. After that was released practically the entire state of Minnesota wanted to grab their pitchforks and torches and go hang her like a Salem witch....but it turns out she wasn't even driving the van. Point being, wait until you know the full story before you make your mad skamper to Walmart to buy more shot gun shells.

This story should bring shame to every non-black person in Minnesota. What were the witnesses doing during this time? Why didn't any of the bystanders come to this man's aid? These thugs are cowards and will only attack when the odds are overwhelmingly in their favor. If only a couple more "real men" would have stepped forward these un-evolved apes would have ran off. We have to stop this cowardly notion that the police will protect us everywhere at anytime and occasionaly stand up for ourselves and our neighbors when needed. If we want to live in a free and somewhat civilized society we need to be willing to kick some ass or get our asses kicked once in a while instead of avoiding eye contact and running away when a problem arises. I sincerely hope the victim in this case makes a complete recovery and his daughter realizes what a brave man her father is.
