I'm starting a job at the University (East Bank) in mid-August and would love suggestions about places to live where I could use mass transit to commute. I've looked online at bus routes, but it's hard to tell which areas would make commuting by bus to the East Bank easier. I'd like to try finding an apartment (studio/1 bedroom) on the west side of Lake Calhoun or Lake Harriet or in St Louis Park, but I'm not sure how accessible it is to mass transit.
I looked at light rail, but with only one line, I'm not sure how easy it will be to find a good apartment in proximity to those stations. Any thoughts on mass transit and commuting to the East Bank? |

light rail isn't close enought to the east bank to justify using it or trying to live near it.

Until the Central Corridor line is up and running which won't be until something like 2014.
