Has anyone gone without an appointment? I can't believe how far ahead you have to plan for your road test!

This post must have the record for most single post all time users for any thread. But, I suppose, most are teens and the issues here would not be things they would be thinking about.

Getting in a car and driving is easy. Really knowing all the rules and finer points is actually more complicated than people think. Driving and driving safely and respectfully are two different things. Also I think people coming from other countries learned to drive under different circumstances in different cultures and find driving in this country a very different experience. I certainly empathize with that but overall I'm in favor of keeping it a difficult as possible. It's hard to believe how some of the people on the road managed to pass their exams.

Default Starting Turn at Plymouth MN Road Test

When I arrive for my road test at Plymouth, MN, I understand I will be directed to lane 1,2,3, or 4. I also understand that the road in front of me is a 4-lane one-way going to the right.

My question is, if i am in lane 1 (furthest to the left) and i start out.....do i turn right to the corresponding lane, furthest to the left, or do i turn to the immediate right lane closest to me.

I ask, as I know if i was going from a 1-way to a 1-way road, i would turn to the corresponding lane, but in this case i am starting from a parking lot......so not sure.

I tend to believe I should turn to the corresponding lane, but really don't want to mess my first turn up.

Help? Test is on Monday!

My child just passed the test at Plymouth a couple weeks ago, starting in lane 1. Turned right into the furthest left lane (stayed in the lane he started in). Whole test was 6 minutes long
