The part of the south metro that's in the center of the MN river valley is really really humid, though.

Historic Tornado and sever thunderstorm records point to a cooridor in the northern suburbs, more specifically following the Mississippi River. I guess with continental jet streams and wind patters, and the effect of the massive body of water(Mississippi), it has had an affect on weather. More specifically places such as Blaine, Brooklyn Park, Coon Rapids, Anoka, Fridley, Mounds View, Spring Lake Park have had more active tornado history than Burnsville, Lakeville, Prior Lake. Remember from northern Blaine to southern Burnsville is probably 45 miles.
