Default New to Minneapolis

Hi! I am moving to Minneapolis in Nov and will be in Minneapolis for at least next 6-9 months. My work location is in Edina.

I would appreciate if someone can give an insight of the nice apartments around Edina or near by.

Thanx

Depends on what you want to spend. There are nice units around 50th and Vernon. There are also tons of rentals around Southdale, mostly around Parklawn Avenue. It may be hard to find something around 50th and France, but one could look around there too.

I'd also recommend looking at apartments in the Linden Hills neighborhood of Minneapolis (west of Lake Harriet and south of Lake Calhoun). This area is close to Edina, yet offers some of the best benefits of city living: very walkable neighborhood, close to Lakes Harriet and Calhoun, lots of interesting shops at 43rd & Upton.

You could also check out Excelsior & Grand in St Louis Park (along Excelsior, east of Hwy 100)

Thanks for your prompt replies. I will surely look around the areas you mentioned.

I can spend up to $1 K per month and prefer to have 1 bed room apartment. I hope traveling 5-10 miles one side, won't be an issue in the coming winter months.

I haven't actually looked at apartments in Edina but I'm sure you should have no problem finding a 1 bedroom apt in that range. Just look at the apartment buildings close to where you work.

MirageBreak, I just found your post, perhaps I am late with these suggestions, but there are a few apartment buildings that are well known like Durham Apartments at 7201 York Ave. Also, there are buildings on Parklawn, just west of France Ave. There are many condos where once in a while owners are renting them out. Craigslist is a very good source of available units.
