Brooklyn Center has a significantly higher crime per capita rate than Brooklyn Park, and is about 100 times more depressing. Brooklyn Park is kind of whatever to me.

Three weeks ago I was riding the #19 bus in BP and we caught a stray bullet through the windshield. There are gang tags all over the place. Judge for yourselves, though.

It is good to remember that the real estate market has been down for a year a a half now. Why a home stays on the market for a long time depends on many factors, but the list price is huge. Any overpriced home (in any area) will stay on the market until the price reflects the current market value. So, perhaps it was pricing, perhaps the home was difficult to show (i.e. very restricted hours during which the home could be shown to prospective buyers, etc.) It's not always the market

It was on Brooklyn Blvd just before we reached 44th and Penn near the Dominos. I got out and walked home at 10:30 at night wearing my work clothes. That was fun. /sarcasm

That doesn't add up. This would be in either Brooklyn Center or Minneapolis, not Brooklyn Park. Where do you live?

Yes it's our little commercial area - so if the incident happened on/ after going over the bridge on the way to 44th/ Penn, it would be in Mpls, if it was before the bridge it would be in B.C. (to my knowledge there aren't stops in between there but could be wrong). Either way I'm confused why the poster Mr. Northside thought he was in Brooklyn Park being from around here (esp. considering there's a big sign right on that route notifying persons of entering Mpls when crossing the bridge).

If you are riding a bus, it is not always easy to see the street signs and know exactly where you are. Paticularly true when it is dark. Someone from the area should probably know the diff between Minneapolis, BP and BC though. Pretty good example how perception and reality are not always in sync.

A number of incidents have been reported on several bus lines in the last couple years. This is somewhat disturbing as many people rely on the bus for transportation.

You should always know where you are when you decide to take a bus.

As for incidents on bus lines, this would scaree me because alot of people try to use crime as an excuse to limit public transit(I don't have a car so I know what the persons who don't have cars go through.). I wouldn't want to see buses and light rail done away with and I know some people will come up with such an excuse.
I look at it like this: If a criminal will rob a house, a criminal can steal a car. Transit won't make a difference.
