Default Is commuting from Uptown to Woodbury crazy?

I am having just THE HARDEST TIME finding rental properties that will work for us (dogs can be so problematic when renting! and I'm picky, too) in St. Paul, Maplewood, and Woodbury. I posted my "wish list" a while back, but basically...I was hoping to find something in the city, because we're more city vs. suburb people, really.

I have just now thought about considering Minneapolis neighborhoods. I haven't even done research on that side of town so I'm just tossing out Uptown as an example.

I need to keep the commute down to 30 minutes and would prefer 20 max. Do-able or crazy? Are there any other neighborhoods in Minneapolis that I can consider? Thanks for your advice, and for letting me vent

It has always been difficult to find Minnesota rentals allowing animals. With winter coming on you best settle somewhere. Give yourself time to find a forever place, and and worry about being a city folk v country folk when the spring arrives.

As for your question of the commute being "crazy", I lived north of Hudson, Wisconsin and worked downtown St. Paul. You gotta do what you gotta do, is all.

If you had quick access to 94, 30 minutes is realistic. Uptown has that at lyndale with no meters, other options to grab 94 would be riverside, huron and cedar. 494 is also an option if you look down around the airport. Probably depends where in woodbury you are going though. Big diff if you between raidio dr and valley creek though.
