Do the Twin Cities have any of those hot tub by the hour places that are so popular on the West coast? It's not a hotel, just a place with lots of hotub rooms, usually with showers, towels, and the tub. You rent by the hour for a nice long soak. They are also popular places to bring dates.

Well, lacking experience with that end of things, I can only begin to sumise, but it strikes me that people who rent dates by the hour tend not to be either creative enough or solicitous enough to think of bringing the object of their admiration to a nice warm bubbling romantic bath on an icy day. Well, if you ever do, even if it's years later, I expect you to run back to this thread and inform me immediately.
I found one web link to such a place. But it's way over in New Hampshire. :/ They don't seem to be in every city, although I would think that any cold Northern metropolis would be a likely place to find such an establishment.

I only know of a place that rents them by the day and delivers them to your location on a trailer.

I know of one... In Canton, Ohio. Sorry. It is called the Hot Tub Club, very cool place!

It actually sounds like a good idea. Not sure that it would fit culturally with the Twin Cities, and I can see plenty of room for abuse of the proprietor isn't careful, but I can see it being very relaxing. I love my parents' hot tub.

Ely, MN has a business that does this with Saunas. Not sure if they have hot tubs as well. Lot of Finish people there and people love the saunas. Good number of people have them at home as well.
Personally, I sometimes enjoy a soak, but not a big fan of the public hot tubs. I quit using them years ago at the health club after witnessing some highly questionable activity.

Yup, there are places like this in the Bay Area. The ones that I know of are mostly day spas, such as
Watercourse Way .

I've never heard of it either, might be more of a California thing than a west coast thing.

The place in seattle is called TUBS and its in the university district. Its INCREDIBLY clean and a very great romantic get away for couples. The rooms are huge, they have a big hot tub in the center, a small sauna, showers, and wooden benches to lay down on. They pump in music (huge selection) and its very reasonably priced. I miss that place a LOT - it was simply great to go by myself after a long stressful day at work and relax. It is such a nice/clean friendly place that I bought my parents gift coupons for their anniversary, and at first they were leery, but after they went, they go back every month.
Minneapolis SORELY needs one of these places.
