Yes there is. I witnessed a gang fight there when I went a few years ago. But if you're not in a gang and you leave them alone you will be fine. I am a high schooler around here and to tell you the truth, I always wonder what to do around here. The only thing I can ever really do around here is just hang ou with friends.

The Minneapolis Institute of Art on 3rd Ave. S. and 24th St. is really cool with lots of interesting things to see, from medieval tapestries to entire Chinese household rooms, kind of like a smaller Metropolitan Museum of Art. Admission and parking is free, and the audio guide (which isn't too good but still useful) is only $4 if you want it.

You will be in Minneapolis for 4 weeks? Please include St. Paul and also the suburbs in your explorations.

Here's a partial list of some of the places I've taken friends when they come to the Twin Cities and would recommend to others: Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Sculpture Gardens, historical Fort Snelling, Minnehaha Falls, the State Capital, the Science Museum of MN, both zoos (MN Zoo and Como Zoo) and the Como Park and conservatory, a walk around Lake of the Isles, Mill City Museum, MPLS Farmers' Market, Valley Fair Amusement Park, Mall of America, a Twins game or a St. Paul Saints game, the Cathedral of St. Paul, the Basilica of St. Mary, walks through both down towns, the James J. Hill house, the American Swedish Institute, the Children's Museum in St. Paul, and any of the over 100 live theater or music venues here.

Some of these local attractions can be quite pricey, but many are free or low to moderate in price and always worth the time to do them.

Please check out the MN dept. of tourism and ask for info about 2-4 weeks before you come; they are a gold mine of information and can give so much more information than any of us ever can.

Default Mn

We will be in the at cabin which is 8 miles from Sioux Center , 5 miles to a town called Melrose, and then about 2 miles from a smaller town called Greyeagle.
We'll be at that cabin for about a week doing repairs and getting ready to rip it out of the ground for our new house, which we will move into in Summer '08.
My parents dont have many plans but i will definatly tell them about all the ideas you have given me. I've have been googling stuff to do there and the sculpture garden and the Institute of Art look very cool. were not leaving until in to July ( around the middle of July ) and the thing i am hoping the most for is to ride the Power Tower at one of the fairs it is my favorite ride.
Thank you for all of your thoughts and suggestions. and in '08 ill be moving do there
