Default Good place to rent in Hopkins, Minnetonka, Edina, St. Louis Park, etc. MN

We are moving to the Twin Cities and will be working near Hopkins/Minnetonka. Looking for a nice, quiet apt./condo/duplex/house that has more than ONE side of windows for around $700-$800+ (1-2 bedrooms, we have no kids or pets) needs to be quiet, safe, etc.

Even the really expensive places have this floorplan with just one side of windows, makes me really claustraphobic...

Any ideas? I have looked in many traditional places, websites, rent.com, rental ratings, etc. Any places you have first hand experience with? Any out of the way places or interesting places?

Thanks! We LOVE the Cities and are really looking forward to experiencing all that it has to offer.

$700-800+? Meaning you are willing to spend more?

There is a place in Edina that you might like...but it's spendy.
Welcome To The Durham [Edina]
Take a look at "2 Bedroom 11".

The area is quiet, safe, conveniently located.
Hope that helps. Good luck!

I know several people who rented at KeyApts Communities

The apartments are older and idiosyncratic and owned by one person's family. They are very homelike, larger, and in very safe "house" neighborhoods - Valley View and Interlachen Manor were the specifics.

Second to consider: Oaks Properties

These are very professionally run apartments. Two I know are Oaks Vernon and Oaks Braemar. Again, very good neighborhoods.

Oaks properties are much larger complexes with pools. They have staff at the door. Keys do not. Either place is safe. I would stay away from large complexes like Cedars in Edina. Hopkins has a lot of apartments but the neighborhoods are much rougher. The commute from Edina isn't significant.

You can get deals by looking at Apt. search engines and negotiating. Take advantage of these.

May I ask why you would avoid Cedars of Edina? I'm planning on moving up that way from NC and was considering that complex....

Default GreenBrier Road, Minnetonka

Well, during my apartment search I found for the price less than 800 2 bed room apartments was very less. Minimum $900 to get a decent apartment. I am not sure about the prices now. If you are going to work in hopkins, minnetonka there are some real good apartments in minnetonka that almost looks the other apartments people posted in Edina. Look for apartments next to Ridgedale mall, and I found some big apartment complex on Greenbrier Road while driving. Edina, in general, in my opinion, is a costly place.
