Default Minneapolis Airport

I'm considering a move to the Twin Cities from D.C. What do residents think about the Mpls airport? It seems like Northwest Airlines has quite the monopoly on flights in and out of the Twin Cities. And, the fares always seem really high compared to traveling from other airports like Chicago or DC. Why are flights so expensive to Minneapolis? Do you think the merger of Delta with Northwest will change anything?

I doubt the merger will help, and fares are more expensive. For the few times that I fly, though, the airport is clean, comfortable, modern and well-run. Plus, what other airport has a Larry Craig bathroom?

I love our airport. Nice positive ambiance and without security that treats everyone like a terrorist ( bad memories of LAX in my mind......)

Yes Northwest is expensive, HOWEVER, Southwest Airlines is coming this spring. I can't wait!! Better prices are up ahead..
