Eden Prairie isn't nearly as conservative as it used to be. You are looking for Mound.

I think of EP as an upper end cookie cutter suburb. Some new money, but nothing special. About the same income level as Maple Grove.

Try Chanhassen

Eden Prairie is a cookie-cutter suburb, but Chanhassen really has something special? Please.

I've also noticed that people in Minneapolis (the city itself) are often very strongly anti-suburb; I find this amusing at times, as many times the people most prone to bashing the suburbs are the ones who spend most of their time (shopping, eating, working - everything but sleeping) in said suburbs.

Other than, growing up I never paid much attention to any of the suburbs, other than to think of Edina as being the "snobby" elitist 'burb while Richfield and St. Louis Park were more like extensions of the city.

In alot of ways all of the first ring suburbs feel like extensions of the city. Richfield feels like south Minneapolis, Brooklyn Center and Robbinsdale like north Minneapolis, Columbia Heights and St. Anthony like northeast Minneapolis, etc. Even Edina feels a little like SW Minneapolis.

Yeah, at this point in time it's kind of my goal to live in Edina at some point. My family and a lot of my friends live in the western suburbs of Chicago (Naperville, Hinsdale, Oak Brook), and I just like the feel and mentality of it better there. It just seems like people in those areas have strong ambitions and high standards of living, and I feel much the same. Eagan, Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Minnetonka... they're OKAY, but... lets just say I enjoy sipping lattes, cashmere sweaters, and european imports. Not to mention quality upper end shopping. Just seems like Edina would be the place for me!

I would disagree-Edina is old money and flaunting money isn't something that it typically done with "old money". If you want to live where you can flaunt it Wayzata, on the lake, is a better option.
