1) Most people use the rail to get places, but if you want to do it for the "train experience" that is up to you. It's about a 45 minute trip one way.
2) 2004
3) the basement of the parking lot at the southeast corner.
4) 1.75
5) yes, or you can pay 2 bucks and lose a quarter

That's not right. The payment kiosk gives change. As I said earlier though, it won't give you change in bills, so be prepared for a whole lot of dollar coins and a couple of quarters if you pay with anything but a couple of ones. The cost is $1.75 for non-rush and $2.25 for rush. That is good for 2.5 hours as well, so you can get on and off as much as you'd like in that time frame without paying again.
The buses, on the other hand, do not give change so be prepared when paying with less than exact change.

Cedar Riverside, Lake street/Midtown, and Franklin Ave (kind of) are the 3 shadiest stops. Cedar Riverside has a large Somalian population and Lake Street/Midtown is full of dawgs that wear their jeans 1 foot too low. From VA medical center to MOA and from Downtown East/Metrodome to the warehouse district are ok.

I live near the Lake St/Midtown stop so naturally it's the station I use most often. In speaking from the standpoint of a dorky white guy, I don't feel threatened by the stop. I always kind of snicker to myself when I see a really paranoid girl get off at that station and literally book down the stairs out of the station and through the parking lot. The only annoying thing that has happened there is periodically a drunk Native American will ask for money. Also, I don't think I've got on a train there once without seeing an empty Little Ceasar's pizza box sitting on one of the benches.
One of the most common stops I get off at is Cedar-Riverside because surprisingly Palmer's Bar is my wife's favorite hang out spot when we need a break from the Chatterbox. The station can be a little bit intimidating at first glance because it doesn't have the best lighting and the building next to the station looks like it just survived a nuclear blast. Plus it's a block away from the Riverside Plaza buildings so the majority of people you'll see at the stop are Somali which some people may not be accustomed to...doesn't bother me though. However, I personally find that station kind of peaceful since there is no traffic noise there and not to mention that it's a quick 2-3 block walk to all the cool bars along Cedar Ave.

I noticed the Little Caesar's thing too. Cheapest, most disgusting pizza ever. I had a bad experience at the Cedar-Riverside stop though, right as my friend and I get off there were these 2 guys literally just waiting for someone to get off then they start following us yapping about random stuff. Once they asked for money we just hopped on the closest bus, much to their displeasure.

My take on Little Ceasar's, it isn't the best pizza around by any means but it's waay better than any frozen pizza and costs about the same amount. You can't beat $5 for a large pepperoni. You can't even get a medium anywhere else for under $9.

...and those prices in no way correspond to the demographic that they target, right?
