Default commute time from Stillwater to U of MN

Hi all, my husband may be working at U of MN and I love to restore old homes. We are not "urban" people; been there, done that. Stillwater looks absolutely beautiful. He doesn't mind a fairly long commute if he's in his truck with the right music! Can someone give me an accurate commute time to pass along to him?

According to this website: Housing

From Stillwater to the U of M it is 25 miles or about 45 minutes.

30 minutes would be the minimum. Depending on time of day and congestion it could be close to an hour. 45 on average is going to be close.

I think it's too much of a long drive. it also takes time to get to 94, stillwater is not right off the highway. what about something in between?

Why go that way, taking 36 to 280 or 35 gets you to the U in about 30 minutes (or loop around 694 back to 36 to avoid the lights in NSP) keeping in mind that the speed limit the entire way is 60-65 mph. My mom drove that commute to the U for several years. It isn't a bad commute.

Taking 36 from stillwater to 694 is not a bad idea. But screw 36 past 694! stoplights all the way to highway 61, definitely going to slow you down. I would say go for it, stillwater is a great town, I went to highschool there and it has a lot to offer. As long as its not during rush hour I would say the commute should only take you about half hour.

There is only 3 lights left now. Much improved.

YOu can deal with the lights or deal with the extra miles looping to the north on 694.
