Default Safe, Clean Minneapolis Apartments?

I need to move at the end of the month and want some advice on where to look.

I work in North Minneapolis (I-94 and Broadway) and I will be going to school at MCAD in the fall (2501 Stevens Ave.) I want to rent a 2 bedroom apartment/duplex/etc., and safety and cleanliness are my big priorities. Thanks for your input.

Whittier around MCAD isn't a bad area, and has tons of rentals. Safety can be somewhat of a concern there. If you feel it is too much, aim more towards Loring Park or Uptown.
