Default Dog Owners

Why are the majority of dog owners so ignorant that its disgusting?

I live between to houses where both homes have 2 dogs. When I sit in my backyard, mow, or basically do anything in my back yard, both dogs feel like its fun to bark at me all day. And the homeowners seem so ignorant to the fact that thier dogs are making loud harsh noises effecting my privacy. I know most of you are going to say "You should tell them you dislike it" Im sorry, but that is the most backwards pathetic way to look at things. I shouldnt have to let my neighbors, who are grown adults, know that their loud barking dogs are annoying.

Also, why would you ever walk and animal while carring their crap in a bag? Ever thought about it? Ignorance is awesome. Also, why do dog owners feel like its necessary to show off their dogs like other people care?

I know people in this lame forum are pretty sensitive, but at least respond with some frustrations or responses. Im not stupid so dont act like I am. I just dont like my neighbors with their loud dogs, and the more i talk about it, the more i run into people that feel the same way. How do owners not understand that the loud barking is a giant nuiscance.?

Whether or not they should know to stop their dogs from barking or not, if they aren't and it bothers you, then you need to say something if you expect them to do something about it.

Dog owners love to show off their dogs? I really don't know what you're talking about there.

If you find it backwards to pick up after an animal, then don't own one and you won't have to pick up after it.

I could write a post asking about why most suburbanites are so ignorant its disgusting, but that wouldn't go over well. I don't see there being any point to your post other than to vent frustration and as an adult (I assume you are), you shouldn't have to publicly vent your frustration.

Dogowners should have the common sense to know that a loud barking dog is generally annoying and a nuisance to their neighbors. However, I think there are situations where the owners have become so accustomed to hearing their dogs barking in the background that they don't even realize it - if you think this might be the case (e.g. they don't yell for their dogs to come in the house when they start barking loudly/ incessantly) then it might be worthwhile to let them know that you are bothered by it.

I've seen some parks/ areas where people don't pick up after their dogs - it's not pretty. And carrying a bag of crap really isn't a big deal at all.

It is just not cool to leave dogs that bark unattended. Some dogs are that way others are not. Sadly, some dog owners don't seem to understand that leaving dogs in the yard unattended is not very neighborly if the dogs bark at every passing person. I don't know that the majority of dog owners are like that, but there are enough to cause problems.

We have two chijuajuas, and they are wonderfull pets. That said, they are high strung and overly aggressive towards other people. We don't let them out on the porch, much less leave them in the yard unattended.

Those people carrying dog poo in a sac are the good pet owners. Where would the poo be if not in the sac?

As far as needing to say something to the neighbors. You are right that you should not have to, but some people just don't get how they are affecting others. You do seem to understand this is a people problem rather than a dog problem. If it were my neighbor, I would let them know it is bothering me. There are ways to do that without the conversation being horribly unpleasant. If you don't want to do that, you have other options too. Most cities have ordinances about barking dogs. For example if nuisence calls become routine, the pet owners are forced to change the situation.

Because otherwise you would have something legitimate to complain about.

I'm sure they just love you.

Dog owners are some of the most discriminated against minorities. Tell me another disadvantaged group that is forbidden from leasing property, barred from the grocery store, and are segregated from the very parks that our taxes are funding. And another thing, you don't see people getting tickets for not putting their rambunctious children on a leash! On top of all of this, dog owners incurr a mandatory tax for this bigotry in the form of a license.

While dog nazis continue to complain about their free security systems, the tolerance in America is reaching an all time low. Badge wielding patrolmen are gunning these creatures down in the street, and where is the outrage? Until the general public gets over its superiority complex, man's best friend, and their owners, will forever be persecuted.

I feel bad for you. There's nothing more irritating than a neighbor with barking dog.

Poo in a sack is a sign of a responsible dog owner. I would rather the poo be in a sack than on the bottom of my shoe.

My dog is normally silent when he's in the house or outside on a leash but as soon as I let him outside to do his business he'll check to see if there is anybody walking down the sidewalk to bark at. I tell him to shut up but at the same time I kinda like it because he cares enough about my property to make an attempt to protect it.

I can see that. But it doesn't make it any less irritating. It depends how much you let him bark.

It depends, if he's annoying enough I'll tell him to come right back inside. Otherwise I'll let him stay out and he eventually chills out. I haven't strapped a punishment collar on him or put a muzzle on him yet but yeah, it is starting to get to be a bit of a nuisance.
