Default What is the commute like from the South Minneapolis area to Golden Valley?

Hello everyone. My wife and I are new to the area and house-hunting, and we are attracted to some of the areas in south Minneapolis, however, my job is in Golden Valley (around Hwy 100 and Hwy 55). I usually go to work pretty early (in by 7:00), and go home any time from 3:30 to 5. If we lived anywhere in the south Powderhorn/Nokomis neighborhoods, is my commute going to be an absolute nightmare, given the construction? What about in the winter? Thanks.

I'm not sure how bad 94 is at that hour. I'm guessing you'd be bumper to bumper from the HWY55/Hiawatha exit to the Lowry Tunnel and then you'd probably be ok but I'm not 100% sure since I go the opposite way.

From east of 35W it would probably be a hassle. If you were west of 35W and closer to Hwy 100, it would be significantly faster.

Editted to add: Your afternoon commute will be pretty easy no matter where you are since you'll miss rush hour. If you were east of 35W and could easily get on 62, that might be ok---maybe someone can comment on what 62 westbound is like in the morning from the Nokomis area to 100?

It depends on what you think is manageable, but in my view, its very manageable. I would guestimate about 20 minutes.
